THE WRANGLER’S TRAIL


Some of the best scenery in central Arizona can be seen on this full day loop tour of the Apache Trail. This historic road covers some of the most rugged terrain in Arizona. Partly paved, partly graded dirt, the journey of about 80 miles is filled with spectacular scenery to rival any in the state. You will have magnificent views of twisted igneous mountains, dense forests of saguaro, sparkling blue lakes, and Roosevelt Dam. Be sure to bring your camera!

Spend an exhilarating day on a cliff side trail climbing over 6000 feet from the desert floor to the rim top of the Superstition Mountains. Pass through one of the thickest stands of mature saguaros in the state. See if you can be the first to spot the many natural rock windows and figures. Did you bring your camera? You’re in Big Horn Sheep and deer country! At the top, enjoy a picnic in the cool lush pine forests before riding the ridgeline filled with splendid 360 degree views. On the way back, visit an old abandoned mining community and step inside an old gold mine. What an adventure!

EL OSO TRAIL


Come spend a fabulous day traversing intense desert terrain as your guide skillfully weaves the way to the top of the highest peak in Maricopa County. As you journey up the mountain, notice the types of vegetation and how it is changing with the altitude. And take a look to the West for a view of the Valley of the Sun that not many experience. On cresting the 7000+ foot top of Four Peaks, there are incredible panoramic views and photo opportunities. Breathe in the scent of the tall pines and as you start down the mountain, watch for Roosevelt Lake to come into full view. Your route will connect with the Apache Trail, the oldest highway in North America, bringing you back to Goldfield Ghost Town.
