Britannica Pat

Brittanica Pat

Pat will share his knowledge of the flora and fauna of Arizona as well as its checkered history from the early Spanish incursions, Indian uprisings, and mining legends and lore.

Pat started his tour driving in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado after retiring as Director of Manufacturing from Hughes Aircraft in the mid 1990's. He began his off-road odyssey in 1963 after visiting Colorado for the first time for a Boy Scout Jamboree in Colorado Springs. He returned to Ohio and gathered up his family for the first of their many vacations in Colorado. Later he was able to transfer to the Denver area, then to Tucson where he lived for 12 years, exploring the back roads of Arizona at every chance. The love of the outdoors certainly runs in Pat's family. His son Michael O'Donnell has climbed to the summit of Mt. Everest two times, and was one of the guides that was employed to assist Erik Weihenmayer on his journey to the top of the world. Erik was the first blind man to ever summit Everest.

Now a resident of Arizona, Pat enjoys the best of both worlds. During the winter months, he is a tour guide for Apache Trail Tours in Apache Junction, AZ and during the hot summer months, he relocates to Ouray, Colorado and continues his tour guiding with Switzerland of America Jeep Tours.
