Hackberry Spring Loop
Rated 2.0
6.0 miles (4 hours)
Elevation = +800 ft.
A wonderful trail demonstrating the extremes of topography in the Superstition Wilderness. Garden Valley is the first destination with ruins of an ancient Indian culture evident, and if you look hard enough you can still find pottery shards in the area. Watch out for that cholla as you proceed down a beautiful canyon past an old mine and eventually an old creek bed. There is some mild climbing in the creek on, over, and around some house sized boulders. You will see a crested saguaro and running spring in the desert.
